Let’s take a look at what we shipped in July across all of Hiro’s devtools, and share some of our priorities for August.
Clarinet
- Improved mainnet principal format support: Enabling mainnet principal format support in simnet's mainnet simulation, contract addresses, and the default provided wallets will all be using mainnet principal versions. This allows you to interact with mainnet simulated data with mainnet formatted principals.
- Epoch 3.2 support: With the approval of SIP-031, the Stacks blockchain has entered a new phase: Epoch 3.2. This marks the deployment of the new SIP-031 contract to mainnet. To take advantage of the latest Clarity features and optimizations in your current version of Clarinet, make sure your contract manifest specifies epoch = 'latest' (which is the default setting).
Explorer
- BNSv2 Explorer integration: The search bar is now utilizing BNSv2, which enables searches for more BNS extensions: <code-rich-text>.btc<code-rich-text>, <code-rich-text>.locker<code-rich-text>, <code-rich-text>.stx<code-rich-text> and <code-rich-text>.id<code-rich-text>. BNSv2 names are also listed under the address holdings section of an address page.
- Search feature improved: The search feature in the Explorer added support for a new search keyword <code-rich-text>TXTYPE<code-rich-text> which filters transactions by different types: <code-rich-text>token_transfer<code-rich-text>, <code-rich-text>contract_call<code-rich-text>, <code-rich-text>contract_deploy<code-rich-text>, <code-rich-text>coinbase<code-rich-text>, <code-rich-text>tenure_change<code-rich-text>. More granular searches enhance better search results for users.
- Mempool page redesign is live: Visualize the activity in Stacks’ mempool with confidence and transparency. Giving not only developers, but also users and investors, better awareness of the types of activity about to happen on-chain will boost readily available insights.
Documentation
- Hiro Docs 3.0.0 reflects major updates that span across performance, design, navigation, and architecture. Added support for AI-friendly documentation formats, restructured documentation hierarchy for better discoverability, enhanced documentation tooling and automation, and much more.
Looking Ahead to August
Here are some of the big things we’re working on in August:
- Richer API Dashboard analytics: We currently aggregate high-level API usage data. With a new unified data pipeline now integrated, we have access to more granular insights—such as specific services, endpoints, and response codes. This task involves surfacing that data in the Platform UI for greater visibility and analysis.
- Redesigned transaction id pages: The new redesigned Stacks Explorer is still undergoing a makeover in many aspects. The transaction id pages, which include contract calls, contract deploys, and token transfers, will have a more robust look & feel to it. Giving developers more information related to their transactions will give them more confidence in user activity.
- Multiple language support in docs: Stacks developers span the globe. Providing docs in their native languages accelerates understanding of complex concepts, helping them build faster.
As always, we will be shipping new features and upgrades outside of what’s listed here. Keep an eye out for new updates.
